Privacy Policy
Effective 26 October 2026
The short version
- Your trips stay on your device. We never upload your travel dates or countries.
- The web calculator sends nothing. It runs entirely in your browser.
- No account, no ads, no selling data.
- The app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve it.
This policy covers the Schengen Calculator app for iOS and Android and this website (together, "Schengen Calculator"). Schengen Calculator is made by Reku, an independent developer ("we", "us"). If anything here is unclear, email support@reku.dev.
1. Your trip data
The trips you add (entry dates, exit dates and countries) are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you create a PDF trip history, it is generated on your device. It only leaves your device if you choose to share or save it somewhere.
2. The web calculator
The calculator on this website runs entirely in your browser. The dates you enter are not sent to our server or stored anywhere.
If you use Copy a link to this calculation, your dates are written into the part of the link after the "#" symbol. Browsers never send that part to a server, so the dates only travel where you paste the link. When someone opens such a link, the page reads the dates and then removes them from the address bar.
To count visits, the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or track you across other sites. It records the page you visited, the site that linked you here, your browser and device type, and your country, and shows them to us only as totals. It never includes the dates you enter.
The website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or cross-site tracking. Like any website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may briefly keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running.
3. Anonymous usage analytics (app)
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used, so we know what to improve. It records events such as "trip created", "planner checked" or "PDF exported", sometimes with simple numbers like how many trips you have saved, the length of a planned trip, or the star rating you choose during onboarding.
On iOS, the app also uses Firebase Remote Config to decide which version of the upgrade screen to show, so we can test which design works best. Which version you saw is recorded with the analytics events above.
4. Crash reports (app)
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report so we can fix the problem. It includes technical details such as your device model, operating system version, app version and where in the code the crash happened. It does not include your trips.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Schengen Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. They process your payment, and we never see your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active Pro plan. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and an anonymous ID created by the app, not your name or email.
6. Notifications
Alerts like "15 days left" are calculated and scheduled on your device. No server sends them, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or your device settings.
On Android, the app asks for permission to show notifications, to schedule alerts at an exact time, and to restore your alerts after your phone restarts. These are used only for your Schengen alerts.
7. When you contact us
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. On iOS, the pre-filled support email also includes your app version and whether you have Pro, to help us answer faster. We use this only to reply to you.
8. Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent any data. The only third parties involved are the service providers above, and only for the purposes described:
| Provider | What for | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | Feature usage | Anonymous events and counts |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Fixing crashes | Crash and device details |
| Google Firebase Remote Config (iOS) | Testing upgrade-screen designs | Anonymous app instance ID |
| RevenueCat | Pro subscription status | Receipts, anonymous ID |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Payments | Handled under their own policies |
| Cloudflare (website) | Hosting and visit counts | Technical logs, page-view totals |
9. How long data is kept
Trip data stays on your device until you delete it or the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google under the retention settings of our Firebase project, then deleted automatically. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.
10. Your choices and rights
- Delete individual trips in the app, or delete the app to remove all of them.
- Turn notifications off at any time.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Email support@reku.dev and we'll respond within 30 days.
11. Children
Schengen Calculator is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
